Allen Edmonds is an American company which has a rich history.
Allen Edmonds Shoe Corporation evolved from a partnership started in 1922 by Elbert W. Allen, Sr. and his partner Ralph Spiegel.
Together Allen and Spiegel bought the Belgium Shoe Company located in the small town of Belgium, Wisconsin.
In the late 20s Spiegel was bought out by William Edmonds, and the company was renamed to Edmonds Foot Fitters. The rest is a history of overcoming all kinds of obstacles.
Today, Allen Edmonds like to call themselves "The Great American Shoe Company" and has retained manufacturing facilities in the US.
Here's a passage from their website:
As the trend to move U.S. manufacturing jobs offshore in response to rising costs continued, Allen Edmonds resisted. Instead, Allen Edmonds invested millions to modernize its US manufacturing facilities.
